The recent migration from Twitter to Weibo saw many people diligently learning to draw, all for the purpose of creating high-quality "ecchi art" images for themselves. Many of them are truly passionate about their craft. Speaking of high-quality ecchi artists who create deceptively realistic art, one cannot ignore the artist Reni Manabu. Reni Manabu is an original character designer and animation supervisor who has contributed to various Japanese anime productions. Hailing from Okayama, Japan, he specializes in drawing cute girls, and his characters exhibit remarkable liveliness. From 2008 to 2010, he worked as an original character designer and animation supervisor at ZEXCS and was responsible for character design in "The Legend of the Legendary Heroes." After leaving ZEXCS, he worked at Manglobe for a while, during which he supervised "Pretty Cure" series for Toei Animation and worked on original animation for "Tsuritama" produced by A-1 Pictures. In late 2013, he left Manglobe and went on to work as an original character designer and animation supervisor for several popular anime series, including "Sword Art Online," "Black Butler," "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU," "I Will Eventually Be Yours," and "Kakegurui ××." From 2014, he transitioned to working as a freelance original artist. He shares his works online every Friday, known as the "Friday Girl" series, where he has created many high-quality doujinshi works for his audience. While talented artists like Manabu Reni can effectively communicate through their works just like ordinary illustrators, hardcore artists like him use various doujinshi art to attract fans' attention. He is known for his love of Kyoto Animation's "Sound! Euphonium" and is said to have always wanted to join an animation production team. Over the years, he has consistently drawn doujinshi art of "Sound! Euphonium." As one of the most hardcore Kyoto Animation fans, his doujinshi art often looks deceptively authentic. In fact, when I first saw these illustrations, I was completely fooled into thinking they came from a Kyoto Animation staff member. However, after extensive research, I couldn't find Reni Manabu's name in the staff lists. It wasn't until I checked his resume that I discovered he might not be an employee of Kyoto Animation, but he is undoubtedly a seasoned industry professional. His influence can be seen in many well-known works. As an animation supervisor for these series, his proficiency in drawing cute girls is top-notch. With the skills of an animation supervisor, emulating the original art style is a piece of cake for him. His level of similarity in emulation can surpass most artists, whether in terms of facial lines or the highlights in the eyes, he can match the original character designs by Shoko Ikeda with ease. As a "character design" supervisor, he excels in depicting characters from various angles, resulting in captivating compositions for each of his illustrations. Not only that, he is skilled in colored pencil drawing and can effortlessly handle the character designs for "Liz and the Blue Bird" created by Takeshi Wada. I really hope to see Reni Manabu's interpretation of "Sound! Euphonium" during my lifetime, but it's disappointing that Kyoto Animation seems to have no need for external assistance. In the latest unofficial news, Reni Manabu has gone on to work on the third season of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby? Looking forward to it!
